After endless nights on the computer drooling over clothes, runway shows, and inspirational blogs, I finally found the most beautiful collection that luckily, was breathtaking enough to revive me from my non-blogging, fashion writers block. That was a long sentence...So there I was, performing my nightly ritual of hitting up all the fashion sites, informative, mercantile, and yes, even the useless ones. As I often do, I decided to check up on my favorite designer: Marchesa. The second I saw the Resort 2011 collection I literally stopped breathing... ok well not really but I almost did. This collection has a beautiful African tribal theme. Featuring tank dresses and long-sleeve shifts with graphic allover beading and vibrant traditional patters, this collection hit the bullseye. The models are featured with a turban like headband that adds to the "Africanism." The collection gives me a sort of sentimental family feeling. The patterns remind me of some kind of empowered african woman. The gowns are even more sensational. The collection starts off with some collared aztec yet almost grecian style gowns but then slowly translates into gowns with more vivacious personalities. My absolute favorite gown probably of all time is featured in this collection. It is strongly resembles my (somewhat soon to be) wedding dress...coincidentally also from Marchesa.

It is a strapless dress that featured a tight corsetted bodice. The bodice is encrusted with beads and gems and features pops of bright orange. Then, the chiffon skirt cascades out to form one of the most beautiful and flattering shapes for women. Even with this classic gown, Marchesa still sticks with the them. This collection flows effortlessly. Every peice fits in and even with a strong theme, Marchesa, unsurprisingly, continues to produce thier signature gowns that possess an effortless feminine elegance. Well Done Marchesa!
