Runway Trend: Beige Minimalism




At times we all wonder, how do designers simultaneously compose runway looks that, while not the same, follow, and set, the exact same trends. Well, Autumn is here and Winter is around the corner, so it's that time of year for designers to pull new and creative ideas from their ever so deep and developed fashion minds. This year designers have trashed the extra baggage such as chains, sequins and all that hot mess. A new age calls for a fresh outlook on fashion. What better way to portray such a simple idea than with minimilistic fashions along with a clean and fresh camel color? It seems as though the mantra "less is more" has been guiding designers through this season. Countless designers such as Chloe, Gucci, Philip Lim, Michael Kors, and Dries all paid homage to fashions most beautiful neutral.

Recently, I came across a designer with whom I fell in love with. Isabel Marant's effortless take on Parisian chic is spot on. In her automne-hiver 2010-2011 (Fall and winter collection). Marant features dyed cigarette pants, cuffed jeans, cropped jackets, and feminine dresses while astonishingly weaves in the Parisian look of efortlessness. When one thinks of Parisian style. What might come up are white flowy dresses with tan belts and big hats. While this is the signature "flowy" style of Paris Marant reveals the darker more romantic side with her fall/winter collection.
